In July 2008, a 3 days anti ageing conference was held at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel. The anti ageing conference discussed about the latest scientific findings on the aging process and ground breaking advancements in the fields of genomics, proteomics, and stem cells. Workshops sessions were also carried out whereby the participants were trained on anti aging laboratory diagnostics, interpretation of results and both evaluation and treatment protocols. There were also case studies and live demonstrations that showcased the latest technologies in aesthetics and biomedical technologies.

Amber Compounding Pharmacy showcased its anti aging creams. Equipped with a skin analyzer, our pharmacists were identifed problem areas on the face. With the result, she recommended suitable customized creams that will rectify or rejuvenate the skin.

In June, PCCA organized a worldwide networking seminar. The seminar was held in Wakiki Beach Marriott Resort and Spa in Hawaii. The seminar aims to expose PCCA members from various countries to share compounding formulas from their parts of the world and review patient case studies. In addition, it was also an opportunity for the PCCA members to network and share their ideas.

As one of the members of PCCA, Jayne Wee was invited to speak and share about compounding trends in Singapore. During her talk, she discussed about the barriers experienced by compounding pharmacists in Singapore. She also mentioned about existing traditional compounding medicines that are used by Singaporeans. Jayne shared also shared her experience of creating public awareness on compounding. The networking seminar was indeed beneficial for the PCCA members as they brought back valuable knowledge to incorporate it into their compounding practice.

The Third Japan – ASEAN Men's Health Conference will be held in Singapore from the 1st to the 3rd of December at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel. Organised by the Singapore Society of Men's Health (Singapore) and Singapore Urological Association, this conference will explore issues that impact men in the present age. Issues such as the metabolic syndrome and how other chronic diseases affect men will be discussed because these are a cause of premature death in men as well as of disability among them. Other health problems pertinent to men such as ejaculatory disorders, prostate health and male urological cancers will also be updated during the conference.
